With the first rays of the sun, I set off with my newly-minted security to fulfill my duty as the head of the company. Work, work and work again! There is only one downside: I am terribly tired and want to sleep. But this is not the first time for me, so I can handle it. And besides, who cares about my well-being?
Besides, I have no reason to complain, because the sleepless night turned out to be quite productive. Sasha Bordo liked her new role as a teacher, and therefore she drove me tirelessly. Still, I can't help but notice that compared to the Bat-family, she is a gentler teacher. My body does not hurt as much as if I had gone through another night of torture with the Bat.
I suppose it's due to their different training. Batman is mostly busy developing my defense. That's why I get beat up like a punching bag so I can defend myself properly. Bordeaux, on the other hand, has turned her attention to my clumsy offense.
So, all night long, I've been unsuccessfully using my fighting skills against her, trying to successfully carry out an attack. I suppose it's mostly due to the fact that her fighting style is aimed at quickly eliminating the opponent.
As an experienced bodyguard, she must get rid of anyone who threatens the life of her client as quickly as possible. Any delay can cost the lives of those she promised to protect. Her style can be described as one hit - one kill.
Such a skill is useful not only for bodyguards, but also for assassins. If Sasha wants to change her job to the opposite of her current one, she will still remain a professional. And thus, we have formed a well-balanced tandem.
Bruce teaches me defense, and Sasha teaches me offense. During our sparring, I managed to find out how high my new teacher's fighting skill is. To my great surprise, it was a whopping 79 points. This is much more than I initially assumed. For comparison: Batgirl's skill is around 78 points. In other words, Sasha is a more skilled fighter than Barbara. However, I would not blindly follow these numbers if these two clashed.
A difference of one point is not critical, perhaps even insignificant. In a real fight, many factors can affect the outcome of the battle. It is impossible to predict someone's victory just by comparing the values of their skill numbers. However, with my 22 points, it is not even worth mentioning.
We had just gotten to work when Barbara immediately met us, her face shining with happiness.
"Good morning," I greeted her. "Why is there so much bubbliness this early in the morning?"
"It concerns our game project."
"A lot," Gordon paused for a second. "The preliminary work on the game «Angry Birds» is finally finished. It works! We just need to check for errors, insert sound effects, and approve the soundtrack for the game."
Her eyes just screamed: We did well, praise us. Well, they really did a good job. It's been more than two and a half months since we started working on our second game project.
The development of «Angry Birds» was much slower than «Subway Surfers». First of all, because I was less involved in the work, compared to the first game. I wanted them to get the experience they needed and learn to cope with tasks without my participation. I have a lot of ideas in my head, and I can't take on all of them myself.
I will have to entrust some projects to others. Although I will still supervise the projects, I will not be able to monitor every action. Well, it's time to check their work. I entered the raw version of the game Barbara gave me into my laptop, because it is where my irreplaceable virtual assistant lives.
"Eva,Check the new file for all sorts of errors and launch it."
"Starting the check... No errors found. The launch was successful. Enjoy the game."
Barbara almost jumped with happiness, hearing Eva's conclusion. This "Angry Birds" was her first game project, in the development of which she took direct part, so now she was wildly jubilant. She came to the company after we created "Subway Surfers", and therefore she did not have any warm feelings towards it. Unlike the second game ...
"All that remains is to improve it a little, and "Angry Birds" will be ready for release. We should start an advertising campaign... Heather," I called the company secretary.
"Did you want to see me?" She came to us, joining the conversation.
"Yes, our second mobile game is almost ready, and we need to get ready for its release. Contact the same advertising company that was promoting my music album. "McClellan & Johnson" from Metropolis, I think. Tell them to handle it…"
"How much will the advertising cost?"
"$20 million. That should be enough."
"Last time you spent $30 million," said Gordon. "Why did you decide to be greedy this time?"
"That time it was our first game, and failure was unacceptable. We were new, no one knew us, and no one expected anything from us. This time it's different. We've already gained some fame, and a lot of eyes are watching our second game project. We're already on everyone's lips... Plus, I have a lot of fans. "Wow, you thought everything through," grinned Barb, adjusting her glasses.
"And one more thing... Heather, keep an eye on this advertising campaign. If they do well, I intend to consider acquiring them. Alritex Entertainment is a growing entertainment conglomerate, and we cannot do without an advertising department," I said, leaning back in my chair.
"When do we plan to release the game?" my assistant clarified.
"In three weeks," I said after a short thought.
"Understood," Heather received her instructions and left the office.
Barbara did the same, heading off to finalize the last aspects of the game, in the form of musical accompaniment and sound effects.
Then I felt a keen gaze directed at me. My bodyguard looked at me with greedy eyes.
"Do you want to play?" I asked, pointing to the laptop. My answer was a barely noticeable nod of the head. I downloaded the game to her smartphone and began to watch her completely immerse herself in the gameplay. Well, apparently she liked the game. It does not surprise me at all that she is a fan of mobile entertainment. After all, her daily routine is pretty boring, and she has to entertain herself with something to while away the time. I can't blame her for that, because in her place I would have done the same.
Well, let's not get distracted, I still have a lot of work today, and tomorrow is a trip to the land of madness and hopelessness. I can't wait for it...
