A Love I Shouldn't Feel Chapter 59

The next morning, the kitchen was filled with warm light and the soft sounds of breakfast being prepared. Kyouko moved with quiet happiness, her heart still floating from the night before. She hummed softly as she plated the food—grilled salmon, tamagoyaki, miso soup, and freshly steamed rice. She didn’t want to waste anything. From now on, she thought, glancing at the table, I should keep maintaining my beauty... for someone who truly looks at me. Her smile deepened without her noticing. She sat at the table with her husband and daughter, placing her hands neatly on her lap. "Mom? You’re really in a good mood today," Satomi said, glancing up briefly from her phone, curious. "Hmm? I’m always ," Kyouko replied casually. "Oh... yeah, sorry~" Satomi smiled faintly and went back to checking her work notifications. Kyouko looked toward the stairs. "Where’s Haruki? He didn’t come down to eat?" "Mmm... I think he’s still sleeping," Satomi said casually, still focused on her phone. Then Satomi looked up again. "Have you ever... talked to Haruki? I mean, properly?" "Huh? Why do you ask?" "Nothing really... but honestly, Mom... you both still act like strangers." Satomi’s voice was light, but a faint frown of concern tugged at her brow. "It wouldn’t hurt to become friends, right?" Kyouko didn’t answer. She simply smiled gently and picked up her chopsticks. Satoshi looked up from his newspaper and added, "Don’t treat your son-in-law like that. He’s not a guest here anymore." "Yeah, Mom, seriously." Satomi nodded. "You should talk to him more. Maybe bring him along when you go out to the supermarket or something." Kyouko just nodded again. "Mom... at least try to talk to him, okay?" Satomi pressed, still glancing at her phone. "Mm... I’ll try," Kyouko said softly, her tone calm. Satoshi folded his newspaper and chimed in, "Yeah, Kyouko. You should talk to your son-in-law. You live under the same roof, after all. Chat with him. Take him out somewhere. It’s not like he bites." Kyouko sipped her tea, remaining silent. "I wonder if you even talked to him during the movie last time," Satomi teased with a slight frown. "You both just watched and went straight home? Or did you toss the ticket and skip it altogether?" Her voice was light, playful. Kyouko’s fingers paused slightly on her cup. "It was a little scary." But not nearly as dangerous as what happened after. Her expression softened as she looked down at her plate, picking up her chopsticks again, her smile never fading. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ "Maybe next time, I’ll talk more." "By the way, Mom," Satomi said between bites. "Haruki mentioned last night he’s being sent out of town for two or three months." Kyouko blinked, chopsticks pausing midway. "Ah... really?" she asked, keeping her voice even, though her heart pressed a little harder. "Yes." Satomi didn’t say more, casually sipping her tea while scrolling through her phone. Across the table, Satoshi was still focused on his tablet. "Even if you tell your mom, Satomi," he muttered without looking up, "they don’t talk to each other anyway." The words hit her harder than they should have. Kyouko offered a polite smile and nodded again. But something in her chest tightened. Two or three months... She lowered her eyes back to her plate, feeling the weight of it. "When?" she asked softly, her tone gentle, curious. "I think he mentioned sometime this week... or early next week," Satomi replied casually, already grabbing her bag. But inside her mind... No wonder he was like a beast last night. "Mom, we’re heading out. Don’t wait for us, okay? You know how busy we are." "Yeah, Kyouko. We’ll be back late," Satoshi added, grabbing his keys. Kyouko followed them to the front door, keeping her smile steady. "Have a safe trip." Her voice never wavered. She waited at the entrance, watching as their car pulled away from the driveway. Once the vehicle disappeared down the road, she quietly reached for the button and pressed it—the gate sliding closed with a soft, mechanical hum. She turned, stepping back inside. The house felt quiet again. Still. She locked the door behind her. And then..slowly, calmly, with a serene expression...she moved through the hallway. Her bare feet made soft sounds on the floor, her nightdress brushing gently against her thighs. She carried herself like she always did..elegant, composed. But her destination was clear. She headed straight toward only one place. Kyouko opened the door softly. Steam drifted from the slightly open bathroom door inside Haruki’s room, and the gentle sound of running water echoed quietly. He was in the shower. She simply stepped inside, her expression calm, her movements light. She sat on the edge of his bed, folding her hands neatly on her lap, her eyes fixed on the softly rumpled bedsheets beneath her. The warmth from the water hummed through the air, and she could faintly hear him moving inside. But her thoughts weren’t on the sound. Why didn’t you tell me? She bit her lower lip softly, holding her breath for a moment. I thought... after last night... Her gaze lowered, words caught in her throat. Wasn’t I... someone special to you now? Because she wanted to hear it from him. Not from Satomi. Not from Satoshi. The sound of water stopped. Moments later, the bathroom door hissed open with gentle steam, and Haruki stepped out casually, towel drying his hair, completely bare, his skin still glistening from the shower. And just like that, his penis, thick, long, and stiff from the morning, swayed freely as he moved. He froze mid-step when his eyes landed on her. Sitting quietly on the edge of his bed, waiting. Haruki quickly turned slightly, instinctively bringing the towel in one hand to cover himself. Not completely, just enough, a teasing smirk tugging at his lips. Kyouko gasped, cheeks flushing bright pink instantly. But she didn’t turn away. She didn’t shout or scold him. She simply looked down. Her voice soft, fragile. "You didn’t tell me..." Haruki blinked, his teasing pause growing slower as he watched her. "About the outstation." Her tone wasn’t accusing.
