After Ale ended that she left with a snugly new bodysuit that worked also as underwear. She didn't want to think too much on the fact that now when she worked as a Minion she would be basically running around while exposing her underwear.
But then again, she also had a new outer body armor...Yeah, she would use that one as often as possible, to hell and back with the fact that she would be running around wearing the Pounce Armor and the Nuzzler Helmet.
Walking outside yet again she found [Skye] waiting for her, they had exited before using other door, so now that they had finished she was waiting for them here. Perhaps this was [Billy] taking into consideration Ale and [Skye]?
"So are you done?" [Skye] asked when she saw them coming out.
"Pretty much, the lad confirmed some theories I had, we took some measurements and got the materials into the molecular printer." [Billy] said from the side.
"Oho...so this work is kind of important huh, you told me that thing had a wait list of almost a year when I wanted custom made flaps for my body suit." [Skye] said from the side, she turned to look at Ale and frowned. "Then where is her body suit?"
"She is wearing it of course." [Billy] said pointing at Ale, "Rhapsody, if you would."
"[Recieved prompt from Haephestus' Forge administration. Deploy BodySuit?]"
"Fine." Ale answered to both, a simple prompt from her mind was enough to nudge the [BodySuit] she was wearing under her clothes to extend. She felt as the clothes started growing and expanding over her body.
"[Notice, new sub prompt from BodySuit, destroy current outfit?]"
What? Ale felt her [Consciousness Stream] accelerate as she stared at the new prompt from the integrated intelligence within the bodysuit.
"[Some materials of the make (DevilThread) allow subsuming current outfit to prevent leaving evidence behind, the setting can be changed but by default it allows the destruction of outerwear, main reason why it was advised to wear it without anything under it.]"
...She liked her clothes, so that was a hard pass.
"Do not destroy my clothes, turn that option off. If we ever need this level of stealth, I will just consume the materials myself, no reason to feed our clothes." Ale said allowing her [Consciousness Stream] to return to normal speed.
"Hmm....fancy." [Skye] said from the side as she reacted to the [BodySuit] growing atop her body, Ale felt the thing crawl all over her body and even felt it latch into the mask, making sure her mask was set in place. Her hair was now neatly set under her new helmet-type mask.
"This is the version we usually leave for Lieutenants, Rhapsody gets it early since this is also the only type of body suit that we have that can match the needs of a Shape Shifter." [Billy] said eyeing her but not saying anything. "She is doing quite well, can't wait for her to rise to Lieutenant rank, she at the very least, knows how to read the instruction manuals I put in these things."
"Right, well then that was about everything we needed from you. Rhapsody, turn off your fancy pajamas. We need to prepare for the next job." [Skye] said extending her hand towards Ale.
Ale nodded and sent another prompt to the machine intelligence within her body suit, a simple prompt was all it took for the [BodySuit] to reel into itself, Ale felt a small tug to her [Mana] and sure enough she noticed the number go down.
"Does this consume something when I use it?" Ale asked turning to [Billy] while she took [Skye]'s hand.
"Oho? You noticed?" [Billy] said smiling, in his eyes she noticed a strike of lightning barely for a second, "Yes, these do take some energy from the wielder, both to kickstart the make and to destroy the exceeding material. The DevilThread on it is quite finicky so while it saves on energy by taking some from the wearer it still can be felt at the start. It will grow with you and you will stop noticing in no time."
"DevilThread?!?!?!?" [Skye] said staring at Ale, "You...you gave her DevilThread clothing? Are you mad?"
"What is the problem with DevilThread?" Ale asked, she had noticed it had some similarities with an organic entity rather than with a material.
"It is...well, do you know about the dead zone in the middle of the desert?" [Skye] asked. New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on novᴇlfire.net
"The part that a [Core User] made that started consuming all the biomass in the area, making a dead zone?" Ale asked back, she had thought about that arear before.
The idea of making a [Blueprint] based on that to start increasing her [Biomass] intake was studied, but on the end she had decided against it since on a long run [Humans] would find it easier to attack her, and besides, if the civilians here knew to not visit the area, chances were that she would peak at some point and stop growing.
Then all her [Biomass] would be consumed to keep that form stable, thus, making it a net loss.
"Yes, that." [Skye] nodded, "The DevilThread is made from split material from some plants and samples from the desert, some people do material for its properties, but there had been some cases of people whose clothes turned....hostile."
[Skye] seemed to be looking very closely at Ale while speaking.
"She is right, but there is also a point you are missing, those were stuff made solely from DevilThread, that is not the case with this." [Billy] said pointing at his own clothes, "These have other materials at the end and they only allow this to grow so far before stopping it."
So, they knew of that aspect of these clothes?
"I don't see a problem with that, and besides. I can deal with it easily enough if these try to grow out of control." Ale said thinking about the monitoring of [Main Core] about these clothes.
"[Notice, Material designated DevilThread are seeking entry into host's reserves, feed BodySuit?]"
Well of course, it was bad to be starved.
And sure enough she felt a small lose of fat and some biomass, it was almost neligible if not for the fact that she was monitoring her own status she may have not even noticed it.
"Well, so long you are aware. I assume Eleanore is up to date with these if you made these for all the Lieutenants." [Skye] sighed while saying that.
"That is right, she did fought against our use of DevilThread, but the tests done to the make of the BodySuit were extensive and Vulcanus signed the approval. Of course, we don't force anyone to use it; if Rhapsody doesn't want it, we can work something out without the DevilThread on it." [Billy] said bringing some card with other designs.
These didn't include on the ingredients Devilthread, or any of the other exotic clothes.
And as such, Ale didn't need them, if she ever wanted to store them like she did with her Pounce Armor or her Nuzzler Helmet, then she needed the extra exotic materials on it.
"I am happy with these, if they start acting up I'll scold them." Ale said nodding, she could feel some degree of pseudo reaction from her new underwear.
It wasn't at the level of having its own [Consciousness Stream], or more like she got the feeling that if she wanted to, she could modify it to turn that way.
She would not of course, she wasn't sure what would happen if she awoke the thing into [Sapience].
"That's the spirit." [Billy] nodded, "So there you see, you should change into these as soon as you can too Sylph, as soon as you let your power rip I am sure we could get you one like these too. If Rhapsody vouches for you I can even attempt to accelerate it."
...That probably meant that [Billy] wanted her to make the [BodySuit] for [Skye] too, just like she had done for her own. She could, of course, do that without much trouble; she would need to warn [Skye] about the setting that destroyed clothing if that came to be.
"I will think about it." [Skye] said and pulled at Ale, "Let's go Rhapsody, we don't want to stay too much near the geezer, lest he wants to pull you to the engineering team."
"Hah!" [Billy] barked a laugh, "I wish, Vulcanus already told me I couldn't have her."
Of course [Billy] couldn't have Ale, she was her own thing!
But Ale didn't had enough time to say her piece as [Skye] pulled at her, so she settled for just waving at [Billy] while walking away. The hallways passed by them and soon enough they stood at the elevator once again.
This time, however, they walked to another different, one smaller. Probably this one would not exit on the same place, a shame really. She would have liked to test her new [BodySuit] in combat, well, she could always go and take a dive into the sewers, perhaps give a small visit to Sam...
She was now more settled than the first time, maybe this time she could even have some time to play with his chitin... And when she got tired she could let Alexandra have some time to play with his upper part.
Ale only wanted the lower part, the [Human] part was...nice to look at, but she wasn't quite sure what to do with it.
"Rhapsody?" [Skye] said from the side, "If you ever feel like the clothes are too pricky, or you feel weaker. Take them off, no matter were you are."
...That seemed too specific. Again.
"Sure." Ale answered, "But I think that these are quite tame compared to most of the dangers I have found so far."
Really, to Ale, this new underwear was less dangerous than P61. That one made her purge plenty of parts before finding out that fire was the correct answer to that test.
"Of course you think so." [Skye] sighed shaking her head, "If not for the fact that the other Lieutenants use them I would make you take them off, DevilThread is no joke."
Ale peeked under her blouse, where she now had a second smaller blouse with some cute frills.
"[Current form that the BodySuithas taken is labeled as Camisole.]"
"It is a cute [Camisole], and it has a mango logo even." Ale said turning to look at [Skye], she wondered how the rest of her underwear looked. But she couldn't quite peek at them with people near.
She wasn't a barbarian to undress in public, that was for Alexa or Alexandra.
"... Of course they got you by using Mangos..." [Skye] laughed a little at that, "We didn't ask him if your other forms can use the same clothes...well I guess your younger form, Alexa you said it was? She can probably get by, but your other form..."
"The design can change in size depending on the wearer, we made it so Alexa has more thick clothes while Alexandra has normal ones." Really ,that was such a weird compromise, but it was that or having one form less protected. So while Alexa would enjoy more defense, Alexandra at least could have some degree of protection.
And if anything, Alexa needed it more. That girl was a menace.
"[Host is that same girl.]"
"So Alexa will have thicker clothes while Alexandra will have skimpy ones?" [Skye] smirked as she repeated weirdly what Ale said before.
"In a way?" Ale answered unsure of why it was something that made [Skye] laugh, "So we have the [BodySuit], the data packets...what is next?"
Instead Ale asked for what would follow in their plan, or the preparations for the plan. I mean, the planning was made by [Aqua], the analyzis was being made by [Main Core].
"[Analyzis currently in progress, depuring in progress. Time to finish analysis of all data pertaining new mission is 12 hours.]"
That, so what was next?
"Well, usually we would return to the apartment to rest, go to the cafeteria to hang around or play around." [Skye] answered, nothing of those seemed like things that were that important if Ale was to be honest.
If that were the things she could do, then wouldn't it be better to return and practice more with the [BodySuit]?
"I know what you are thinking," [Skye] said from the side.
"You do?" Ale asked back; it was surprising, but perhaps [Skye] was using the [Wind] to perceive her thoughts.
How did thoughts even look for a [Core User]? She hadn't asked [Eleanore], mostly because she wanted to set up her defense first, not that it had mattered, since [Eleanore] had said that the more she knew her, the harder it would be for [Eleanore] to peek at her thoughts.
Which was a weird way to see the [Core Power]; it made no sense, but as far as she was learning, these [Core Powers] seemed to depend highly on how the users interpreted them.
Ale thought that perhaps their own misconceptions somehow affected how these powers affected the world around them. And that made them even more mysterious because her own [Core Power] then should be affected in the same way. But then she didn't had any misconsception about her power.
She knew what her power was, she had a [Nanite Forge] and with it she had control over her [Nanites] who she used to make modifications to the things around herself, and herself.
Then was she misconstructing her own power too?
But that was hard to know for sure too.
"You are thinking that we should go eat, then go see a movie!" [Skye] said smiling, "We do have some limited movies around, Vulcanus has some weird thing going about Piracy. You would think that we would have a few petabytes of movies as Villains, but no. We only have a few ones from a public library and others that people to the movie theater."
...She didn't see any problem with having a hard stance against this [Piracy].
"[Piracy: The act of reproducing content witouth giving due regard or compensation to the original owner.]"
That was dumb, why would you do that? Perhaps it had something to do with the monetary condition of the one doing it?
But then surely the people would pay their due when they got to a better situation money wise? Either way, Ale didn't understand it. Not that she was someone to complain about it, depending on how one interpreted her power, she was the ultimate way to reproduce things after all.
"Okay," Ale answered after going on a weird tangent, "But I want a mango snack to enjoy in the meantime."
She would stand by her principles and eat something tasty while wasting time, tomorrow would be a busy day after all.
